Our municipality is located southest of the city of Madrid, about 50 Km on the hydrographic plateau that make the rivers Tagus and Tajuña. And it surprises you for:
+ For its cultural and patrimonial wealth, since it is one of the cities declared a Site of Cultural Interest in the category of Historic Site in the Region of Madrid and is a menber of the club "Villas de Madrid".

According to a popular saying "There are three things about Colmenar that Madrid haven't: the quarries, the jar owens and the Zacatín Bridge".
Our limestone has been extracted since de 2nd century and used in the construction of monuments and buildings such as the Royal Palaces of Madrid or Aranjuez, Prado Museum and Royal Theatre.
The owens were those of the mud jars, very famous and essential in the ancient production of wines and olive oils.
Zacatín Bridge is a tunnel that supports the great Mayor Square of the municipality over the Zacatín ravine.
